Why this bundle exists

Merchant onboarding is a direct trade-off between fraud and growth. Every check you add makes the platform safer and slows activation; every check you drop speeds activation and lets something through. Most platforms resolve it badly — a manual review queue that is slow and also inconsistent, because a human reading a certificate PDF is not actually verifying much.

This bundle removes the trade-off by making the checks fast enough to run on everyone. GSTIN validation confirms the business exists with the claimed legal name. Udyam verification confirms MSME registration and classification. MCA lookup resolves company master data and the director signatory list, so you know the person signing is authorised to bind the entity. PAN validates the business tax identity, IFSC lookup confirms the settlement account is real, and Aadhaar eSign closes the merchant agreement. A legitimate merchant transacts the same day; a fraudulent one fails a check that a document review would have passed.

What it replaces

  • A manual KYB review queue reading certificate PDFs
  • Email chasing of GST certificates, incorporation documents and cancelled cheques
  • Signature acceptance without checking the signer is an authorised director
  • Failed first settlements caused by unverified bank details
  • Printed and couriered merchant agreements

What you need in place

  • Your merchant risk policy and the checks that gate activation
  • A merchant agreement template ready for signature
  • A decision on which failures block activation versus route to review
  • Settlement account collection in your signup flow

Merchant Onboarding — FAQs

How long does this bundle take to go live?

Typically two to three weeks, most of which is configuring your risk rules rather than integration work.

Can we run only some of these checks?

Yes. The bundle is the complete KYB path; platforms frequently start with GSTIN and PAN and add MCA and Udyam as volume grows.

What happens when a check fails?

You decide per check: block activation, route to manual review, or activate with restrictions. The bundle enforces your rules rather than imposing a fixed policy.

Does this work for individual sellers as well as companies?

Yes, with a different path — individual sellers go through Aadhaar e-KYC and PAN rather than MCA and GSTIN. We configure both routes off the entity type.
